What you need

  • Shopify Flow or Zapier
  • Gmail

When it runs

An email contains "where is my order", "tracking" or "shipped".

Steps

  1. Filter those emails into a label with Gmail search.
  2. In Zapier, find the customer's latest order in Shopify by email.
  3. If an order with tracking exists, create a draft reply with the carrier and tracking link.
  4. If no order is found, draft a reply asking for the order number.
  5. Send drafts by hand for the first two weeks, then decide whether to auto-send.

Prompt or template to copy

(Template, no AI) Hi {first name}, your order {order number} shipped on {date} with {carrier}. Track it here: {tracking link}. If it has not moved in a few days, reply and we will check with the carrier.

Why this usually works

Why it worksMost order status questions have a factual answer that already lives in your store.

What to watch for

Watch forCustomers often email from a different address than they ordered with.
Watch forSplit shipments need every tracking link, not just the first.
