What you need
- Gmail
- Zapier schedule filter
When it runs
A support email arrives on a weekend or after hours.
Steps
- In Zapier, trigger on new support email.
- Add a Filter step that only continues outside your hours (use Formatter > Date/Time to get the weekday and hour).
- Reply once with your real reply window and the link to your help center.
- Add a label so the same thread never gets two auto replies.
- Turn it off during holidays when your reply time is longer, or update the text.
Prompt or template to copy
(Template) Thanks for writing in. We reply during {hours, timezone}, so expect an answer by {next business day}. In the meantime, these answers cover the most common questions: {help link}.Why this usually works
Why it worksSetting an honest expectation stops the follow-up "did you get this?" emails.
What to watch for
Watch forNever auto-reply to no-reply addresses or mailing lists; filter them out or you can create loops.
